Our tour guide & driver will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel so you can get settled in. Your highlight for this evening is the dinner in Karaweik Palace overlooking to the Royal Lake and Shwedagon Tower. Fine Burmese food will be served for dinner followed by an amazing cultural show.

Rise early in the morning to visit the Shwedagon Pagoda which is the largest pagoda with painted real gold in Yangon. Benefit for visit the pagoda in early morning you will enjoy an quiet and extremely peaceful atmosphere to watch local people and monks pray in front of the Pagoda. Transfer back to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast you will visit the Reclining Buddha (Chaok-Htat-Gyi) and Mahabandoola park. Have some rest after lunch, in the afternoon, enjoy some free time wander around in Bogyoke Market and the then Bogyoke Market busy streets of Yangon’s famous China Town and Yangon Jetty. Finish your day off at the riverside where the road flanked by colonize style builds which will give you the impression of Burma in old time.

Yangon - Golden Rock

This morning, our driver will pick up at your hotel for the trip from Yangon to Golden Rock. En route, we will explore the local market of Thanatpin then capture the Mon village arises amongst the green rice fields as we take a longtail boat. After lunch, we head to Kin Pun base camp to change our mode of transfer to an open truck. After 11km, we will arrive at Kyaikhtiyo pagoda. The Golden Rock is known as the most sacred Buddhism site which attracts millions of pilgrimage every year. The pagoda is famed for a giant golden rock seat balanced precariously on the edge of a cliff.

Golden Rock - Hpa An

Enjoy sunrise at Golden Rock, then truck back to base before the drive to Hpa An (105 km, approx. 4 hr) travelling through picturesque countryside and sugarcane fields. On the way we stop off at Kawkune Caves to see the 7th century stone carvings and clay Buddhas hidden inside. After arriving in Hpa-an, we'll head to the Shweyinhmyaw Pagoda for sunset.

Hpa An - Mawlamyine

This morning visit the local market, Kyaikalatt Pagoda and Lombumni Garden with its thousand Buddha image located at the base of Mt. Zwegabin. In the afternoon, depart for Mawlamyine (approx. 2 hours). En-route stop in at U Na Auk's Monastery. The shrines might not be as old as some others that you will see, but they are interesting because of the mixture of traditional and more modern architectural styles. U Na Auk is famed for his business which ran in competition to the British during the Colonial era.

The following morning we start off with a trip to the local markets before entering the Seindon Mibaya Kyuang, which was formerly the last queen of Myanmar's residence. Free time this afternoon to take a boat to the delightfully named Shampoo Island (Gaungse Kyun). The pretty little island is named after the fact that water from a spring on the island used to be used for the annual royal hairwashing ceremony. Spend sunset tonight at Kyaithalan Paya.

Today we will travel to nearby Ogre Island (Bili Kyun) to witness some of the many cottage industries of the local communities. All kinds of crafts are made here, such as pipes, walking sticks and products from coconut fibre. In the afternoon we take the ferry back to Mawlamyine where we stay for the night.

Thanbuzayat/Dawei

Begin our long day of driving today with a trip to Thanbyuzayat, (60 km/approx. 90 mins) where we visit the Death Railway Cemetery which contains more than 3000 graves of the WWII Allied POWs who were set to work building this rail link between Thailand and Burma. Continue the drive to Dawei (Tavoy - approx 6 hours), a rarely visited seaside town.

After stopping by the morning market, we travel by coach for 90 mins before changing to a light truck for the 30 min drive to a fishing village on an offshore island where we learn about the local way of life, including the fish drying industry. In the afternoon, visit to Maungmagan beach and have plenty of time to relax before our border crossing day tomorrow. This evening enjoy a home cooked dinner in the home of a local family.

Day 10
Dawei - Kanchanaburi

A long drive today, approximately 8 hours in total, so make sure you have some snacks for the journey. Firstly travel along a winding dirt road (6 hours) to the Myanmar/Thailand border at Htiki. The distance between the 2 borders is around 5km. Say goodbye to your Myanmar leader here and meet your Thai leader at the Baan Nam Pu Ron immigration point. From here it is 66km to Kanchanaburi, which will take around 1.5 hours.

Visit the Erawan Waterfall before transferring to Hellfire Pass. From there we will drive to Nam Tok train station for a rail trip along the Death Railway and see the Bridge Over the River Kwai before heading back to Kanchanaburi for the night.

Our final leg of the trip takes us to Thailand's capital, Bangkok (approx 2 hours 30 mins). Depending on the time of our departure and arrival, there may be free time for optional activities in Bangkok before our optional final night dinner with the group.
